Abstract

In the context of lengthy waitlists for speech therapy, and limited direct care due to the pandemic, we evaluated whether an app could improve parents' confidence using early language stimulation strategies while waiting for SLP services. In this session, participants will learn about our RCT study, completed at Sundrops Centre for Child Development in Duncan, B.C., which utilized the SpeakEasy: Home Speech Therapy app. We will review background research related to intervention with mobile technology, share detailed study results and parent comments, and discuss implications of the study, including ways to use the SpeakEasy app to improve daily clinical practice.
